The debate surrounding first responders in the US has been and continues to be an important topic, one often filled with hate and sorrow. This documentary takes a more proactive stance by shining a light on an often overlooked topic - disability education and awareness. We get to follow along heartfelt and tough moments in the lives of Emily Felter and her father, as they try their best to navigate a life with Down syndrome.
Over 20 years after Emily Felter is diagnosed with Down syndrome, paramedic (and Emily's father) Tom develops a presentation to share her story with other first responders. As the Felters work to raise disability awareness, they come face-to-face with the struggles and joys of their daily lives.
